Deepfakes can be weaponized to spread misinformation, manipulate public opinion, commit fraud, and undermine trust in media. To counter this growing menace, innovative solutions combining artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain technology are emerging as powerful tools for detection, verification, and prevention.

AI-Powered Deepfake Detection

AI is at the forefront of detecting deepfakes by analyzing subtle inconsistencies and artifacts that human eyes cannot easily perceive. Blockchain can securely store metadata and provenance information, creating a tamper-proof ledger that verifies when, where, and by whom a piece of content was created or modified.
